Isaiah 41:10 So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.
Approximately 4 months ago when I received the phone call that I would be spending my summer here, I was overcome with so many emotions. I was elated and overjoyed yet at the same time had some lingering doubts. Coming into camp, I was a bit apprehensive and feeling a little inadequate. Being a new staff member I had all sorts of worries.
There are so many verses in the Bible about having fear and trusting in the Lord. So going into the first week of camp, I turned to the one thing that felt right- scripture and prayer. I prayed and prayed about the upcoming summer. First I thanked God for giving me the job I have been hoping to have for two years. Then I turned to God to give me strength and comfort. This summer God has answered my prayers in more ways than I ever imagined He would. This summer has been the best summer of my life and incredibly life-changing. I feel so welcomed at camp and there is so much love. As a girl who once struggled with self confidence, I am now becoming confident. I have gained so many new skills this summer. I know God called me to work at camp this summer and helped me overcome my doubts and worries. After this summer I can not wait for what He has in store for me next.
