In today’s story, we hear about how Philip was given an unexpected opportunity to spread God’s word and how reading the Bible changed another man’s life.
Too often, we think of the Bible as something that is serious and boring. Here is a way to make reading the Bible fun! Talk about the story together. What part of the story makes the most impact on you? Do you think that Philip wanted to take the time to read with the Ethiopian? How do you think Philip felt when the other man wanted to be baptized? This story is a great example of how we can all learn from each other by reading the Bible together. Make sure your kids understand that you do not have all of the answers—we all have something to contribute when talking about what we read in God’s word!
FAMILY ACTIVITY:
Game Night - Pick a couple of well known Bible stories, write them on slips of paper, and play Bible charades together. Just because we are reading the Bible doesn’t mean we can’t be silly!
